Steel-look aluminium screens
A steel-look aluminium screen is a glazed internal partition made from aluminium profiles designed to imitate the slim black grid of a steel screen. It is lighter and usually cheaper than genuine steel, with slightly deeper frames and a different feel up close.

How steel-look aluminium screens work
Steel-look aluminium is a sensible option when budget leads, or for rentals and new-build flats where a lighter product is easier to fit. From across a room the look is similar; close up, steel has finer bars, crisper corners and a more solid feel.
We quote both materials side by side when it helps you decide, and we always name the material on the quote so there is never any doubt about what you are buying.

Questions about steel-look aluminium screens
Is steel-look aluminium as good as real steel?
It gives a similar look for less money. Genuine steel has slimmer bars, a more solid feel and a longer-lasting finish, so it depends what matters most to you.
How much cheaper is aluminium than steel?
A steel-look aluminium screen often costs roughly 40 to 50 percent less than the same screen in genuine steel. We can quote both for your opening.
Can you tell the difference?
From across a room, often not. Close up, steel bars are slimmer and the corners and joints are crisper.
Is steel-look aluminium suitable for a bathroom?
Yes. Aluminium does not rust, which is why some clients choose it for shower screens and wet rooms.
Will you say which material I am buying?
Always. Every quote names the material, the system and the glass.
Is aluminium quicker to make?
Usually, yes. Standard layouts often have a shorter lead time than steel.
