Staircase steel screens in West Midlands
Homeowners and builders in West Midlands use us for staircase steel screens that are drawn to their exact opening, from compact screens in Birmingham to full-width runs in Solihull.
Fitting staircase steel screens in West Midlands
The West Midlands is home ground for our trading company in Great Barr, Birmingham, and we survey across the region's Victorian terraces, interwar semis and new builds.
Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the staircase steel screen fits the opening you have, not a stock size. Lead times are confirmed in writing when you sign off the drawings, so you can plan the rest of your project around them.
We cover Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and Wolverhampton, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 5–7 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Survey of stringers, nosings and landings for fixings
- Black or any RAL powder coat
- Safety glass sized for guarding where the screen protects a drop
- Fire-rated glass and frames where the stair is an escape route
A staircase steel screen is a glazed steel partition that replaces a solid wall or balustrade beside a staircase. Read the full guide to staircase steel screens.

Staircase steel screens in West Midlands: questions
Does a stair screen need to be fire-rated?
In many houses with three or more storeys the stair is a protected escape route, so glazing beside it must give fire resistance. Two-storey houses often do not need it. We confirm this at survey and with your building control body.
Is glass beside stairs safe?
We use safety glass sized for the loads involved, and where the screen protects a drop it is designed as guarding to the required height.
Do you cover Birmingham and Solihull?
