Fitting steel window refurbishment in County Durham
County Durham projects include stone cottages and Victorian terraces, often with a rear extension that a steel screen connects to the house.
Safety glass is standard in every internal pane, and we check whether fire-rated glazing is needed before anything is ordered. You get one fixed written price after survey, with the material, glass and finish named on the quote.
We cover Durham, Darlington, Barnard Castle and Chester-le-Street, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 2–4 weeks to start after inspection, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Secondary glazing option for listed buildings
- New hinges, handles, stays and draught seals
- Primer and topcoat in the original or new colour
- Inspection and condition report for each window
Steel window refurbishment is the repair of existing metal windows rather than replacing them: treating rust, repairing damaged sections, freeing seized opening lights, renewing hinges, handles and seals, reglazing and recoating. Read the full guide to steel window refurbishment.
