Steel window refurbishment in Cardiff and the Vale
From Penarth to Cowbridge, we supply and fit steel window refurbishment across Cardiff and the Vale, each one fabricated to the measurements taken at your survey.
Fitting steel window refurbishment in Cardiff and the Vale
Cardiff and Penarth have many bay-fronted Victorian terraces with rear extensions, which suit kitchen screens and internal French doors.
Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the steel window refurbishment fits the opening you have, not a stock size. Safety glass is standard in every internal pane, and we check whether fire-rated glazing is needed before anything is ordered.
We cover Cardiff, Penarth, Barry and Cowbridge, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 2–4 weeks to start after inspection, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Inspection and condition report for each window
- Seized opening lights freed and rehung
- Primer and topcoat in the original or new colour
- New hinges, handles, stays and draught seals
Steel window refurbishment is the repair of existing metal windows rather than replacing them: treating rust, repairing damaged sections, freeing seized opening lights, renewing hinges, handles and seals, reglazing and recoating. Read the full guide to steel window refurbishment.

Steel window refurbishment in Cardiff and the Vale: questions
Can old steel windows be made draught-proof?
Draught seals and adjusted opening lights make a big difference. For more warmth, slim double-glazed units or secondary glazing can be added.
How long does refurbishment last?
Properly treated and recoated steel windows can give many more years of service, especially if the paint is maintained.
