Steel sliding doors in Hertfordshire
From Watford to Hitchin, we supply and fit steel sliding doors across Hertfordshire, each one fabricated to the measurements taken at your survey.
Fitting steel sliding doors in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire's Edwardian and interwar houses commonly have a knocked-through living and dining room, which is ideal for internal steel French doors.
You get one fixed written price after survey, with the material, glass and finish named on the quote. Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the steel sliding door fits the opening you have, not a stock size.
We cover St Albans, Watford, Harpenden and Hitchin, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 4–6 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Soft-close dampers in both directions
- Recessed flush pulls or bar handles
- Survey of the wall structure for track fixings
- Toughened, reeded or acoustic laminated glass
A steel sliding door is a glazed steel door that runs along a track instead of swinging open, either on a visible top-hung track or into a pocket in the wall. Read the full guide to steel sliding doors.
Send us a few details and photos of the opening, and we will arrange a free survey.
Steel sliding doors in Hertfordshire: questions
How much does an internal steel sliding door cost?
A single steel sliding door on a face-fixed track usually costs £2,900 to £6,500 fitted, including VAT. Pocket systems and bi-parting pairs cost more.
Are sliding doors good for sound?
A sliding door is less airtight than a hinged door, so it lets more sound through. If privacy is the priority, a hinged or pivot door with seals performs better.
