Steel room dividers in County Durham
Homeowners and builders in County Durham use us for steel room dividers that are drawn to their exact opening, from compact screens in Durham to full-width runs in Darlington.
Fitting steel room dividers in County Durham
County Durham projects include stone cottages and Victorian terraces, often with a rear extension that a steel screen connects to the house.
Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the steel room divider fits the opening you have, not a stock size. We coordinate with your builder, kitchen fitter or decorator so the opening is ready and nothing is measured twice.
We cover Durham, Darlington, Barnard Castle and Chester-le-Street, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 4–6 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Full-height glazed steel partitions up to around 3m in a single tier
- Transoms and posts set out to suit the room rather than a stock grid
- Scribed to sloping ceilings, beams and out-of-level floors
- Toughened or laminated safety glass, clear or reeded
A steel room divider is a floor-to-ceiling glazed steel partition used to zone an open-plan space, such as separating a sleeping area in a loft or a study corner in a living room. Read the full guide to steel room dividers.
Send us a few details and photos of the opening, and we will arrange a free survey.
Steel room dividers in County Durham: questions
Can a room divider go under a sloping ceiling?
Yes. We measure the pitch on survey and draw the top of the frame to follow it, so the divider fits a loft or attic room without gaps.
Does a glass divider help with noise?
It reduces noise compared with an open room, and laminated acoustic glass with sealed joints improves it further. It will not match a solid insulated wall, and we explain the difference before you choose.
