Staircase steel screens in Hertfordshire
Every staircase steel screen we fit in Hertfordshire starts with a free survey at the property, whether that is in Harpenden, St Albans or a village nearby.
Fitting staircase steel screens in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire's Edwardian and interwar houses commonly have a knocked-through living and dining room, which is ideal for internal steel French doors.
You get one fixed written price after survey, with the material, glass and finish named on the quote. Our team handles survey, drawings, fabrication and fitting, so you deal with one contact from start to finish.
We cover St Albans, Watford, Harpenden and Hitchin, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 5–7 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Coordination with building control where approval is needed
- Survey of stringers, nosings and landings for fixings
- Fire-rated glass and frames where the stair is an escape route
- Full-height or half-height screens with handrail details
A staircase steel screen is a glazed steel partition that replaces a solid wall or balustrade beside a staircase. Read the full guide to staircase steel screens.
Call, chat or send the form and we will arrange a convenient survey date.
Staircase steel screens in Hertfordshire: questions
Will a stair screen make my hallway lighter?
If there is a window or rooflight at the top of the stairs, yes. The screen lets that light travel down instead of stopping at the stair wall.
How much does a staircase steel screen cost?
Most non-fire-rated stair screens cost £3,500 to £8,500 fitted, including VAT. Raked shapes and full-height glazing add complexity, and fire-rated screens are priced individually.
Do you cover St Albans and Watford?
Yes. We survey and fit staircase steel screens in St Albans, Watford, Harpenden and across Hertfordshire. Book a free survey and we will confirm a date.
