Staircase steel screens in Essex
We design and install staircase steel screens throughout Essex, from Chelmsford and Colchester to Brentwood and Southend-on-Sea, with fixed written quotes after a free survey.
Fitting staircase steel screens in Essex
Essex homes range from Victorian terraces to large modern detached houses, and kitchen screens and external steel doors are frequent combinations.
Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the staircase steel screen fits the opening you have, not a stock size. Our team handles survey, drawings, fabrication and fitting, so you deal with one contact from start to finish.
We cover Chelmsford, Colchester, Brentwood and Southend-on-Sea, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 5–7 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Fire-rated glass and frames where the stair is an escape route
- Raked frames that follow the pitch of the stair
- Safety glass sized for guarding where the screen protects a drop
- Survey of stringers, nosings and landings for fixings
A staircase steel screen is a glazed steel partition that replaces a solid wall or balustrade beside a staircase. Read the full guide to staircase steel screens.

Staircase steel screens in Essex: questions
How much does a staircase steel screen cost?
Most non-fire-rated stair screens cost £3,500 to £8,500 fitted, including VAT. Raked shapes and full-height glazing add complexity, and fire-rated screens are priced individually.
Is glass beside stairs safe?
We use safety glass sized for the loads involved, and where the screen protects a drop it is designed as guarding to the required height.
Are prices higher in Essex?
Our guide prices are the same nationally. The fixed price for your job depends on its size and specification, plus any site factors such as access or parking, which we note at survey.
