Steel sliding doors in Northumberland
Steel sliding doors in Northumberland are made to measure from a free survey and fitted by our installation team, with surveys across Hexham, Morpeth, Alnwick and the surrounding area.
Fitting steel sliding doors in Northumberland
Northumberland's stone farmhouses and market-town houses suit robust external steel doors and sympathetic heritage windows.
Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the steel sliding door fits the opening you have, not a stock size. Safety glass is standard in every internal pane, and we check whether fire-rated glazing is needed before anything is ordered.
We cover Hexham, Morpeth, Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 4–6 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Soft-close dampers in both directions
- Recessed flush pulls or bar handles
- Toughened, reeded or acoustic laminated glass
- Survey of the wall structure for track fixings
A steel sliding door is a glazed steel door that runs along a track instead of swinging open, either on a visible top-hung track or into a pocket in the wall. Read the full guide to steel sliding doors.
Call, chat or send the form and we will arrange a convenient survey date.
Steel sliding doors in Northumberland: questions
Are sliding doors good for sound?
A sliding door is less airtight than a hinged door, so it lets more sound through. If privacy is the priority, a hinged or pivot door with seals performs better.
How wide can a sliding door be?
Single leaves are usually up to around 1.2m wide; wider openings use two leaves that part in the middle.
Do you cover Hexham and Morpeth?
Yes. We survey and fit steel sliding doors in Hexham, Morpeth, Alnwick and across Northumberland. Book a free survey and we will confirm a date.
