Fitting staircase steel screens in Cheshire
Cheshire projects are often larger detached homes and period properties, where steel bifolds, French doors and statement pivot doors are common.
Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the staircase steel screen fits the opening you have, not a stock size. Safety glass is standard in every internal pane, and we check whether fire-rated glazing is needed before anything is ordered.
We cover Chester, Wilmslow, Knutsford and Macclesfield, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 5–7 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Safety glass sized for guarding where the screen protects a drop
- Black or any RAL powder coat
- Coordination with building control where approval is needed
- Survey of stringers, nosings and landings for fixings
A staircase steel screen is a glazed steel partition that replaces a solid wall or balustrade beside a staircase. Read the full guide to staircase steel screens.

Staircase steel screens in Cheshire: questions
Will a stair screen make my hallway lighter?
If there is a window or rooflight at the top of the stairs, yes. The screen lets that light travel down instead of stopping at the stair wall.
Can you replace banisters with a glazed screen?
Often, yes. A glazed screen can replace a balustrade or a stud wall. We check the fixing points on the stair structure before confirming the design.
Are prices higher in Cheshire?
Our guide prices are the same nationally. The fixed price for your job depends on its size and specification, plus any site factors such as access or parking, which we note at survey.
