Fitting fire-rated steel screens in Herefordshire
Herefordshire's farmhouse and barn conversions often have large openings that suit full-height steel screens and external steel doors.
We coordinate with your builder, kitchen fitter or decorator so the opening is ready and nothing is measured twice. Lead times are confirmed in writing when you sign off the drawings, so you can plan the rest of your project around them.
We cover Hereford, Leominster, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 6–10 weeks depending on system, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Integrity (E) and insulation (EI) ratings to suit the route
- Doorsets complete with closers and ironmongery
- Coordination with building control and fire engineers
- Residential protected stairs and commercial corridors
A fire-rated steel screen is a glazed steel partition designed to resist the spread of fire and, depending on its rating, heat for a set period such as 30 or 60 minutes. Read the full guide to fire-rated steel screens.

Fire-rated steel screens in Herefordshire: questions
Are fire-rated screens much thicker?
Frames and glass are a little deeper than non-rated screens, but steel systems keep the bars slim compared with most alternatives.
Can you put fire glass into my existing screen?
No. Fire performance comes from the tested system as a whole, so the frame, glass, seals and fixings must all match the tested assembly.
Do you cover Hereford and Leominster?
Yes. We survey and fit fire-rated steel screens in Hereford, Leominster, Ledbury and across Herefordshire. Book a free survey and we will confirm a date.
