Staircase steel screens in Gloucestershire
Every staircase steel screen we fit in Gloucestershire starts with a free survey at the property, whether that is in Stroud, Cheltenham or a village nearby.
Fitting staircase steel screens in Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire mixes Regency Cheltenham with Cotswold stone cottages, and slim steel works well against both render and stone.
Safety glass is standard in every internal pane, and we check whether fire-rated glazing is needed before anything is ordered. We coordinate with your builder, kitchen fitter or decorator so the opening is ready and nothing is measured twice.
We cover Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud and Cirencester, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 5–7 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Survey of stringers, nosings and landings for fixings
- Fire-rated glass and frames where the stair is an escape route
- Safety glass sized for guarding where the screen protects a drop
- Coordination with building control where approval is needed
A staircase steel screen is a glazed steel partition that replaces a solid wall or balustrade beside a staircase. Read the full guide to staircase steel screens.

Staircase steel screens in Gloucestershire: questions
How much does a staircase steel screen cost?
Most non-fire-rated stair screens cost £3,500 to £8,500 fitted, including VAT. Raked shapes and full-height glazing add complexity, and fire-rated screens are priced individually.
Can you replace banisters with a glazed screen?
Often, yes. A glazed screen can replace a balustrade or a stud wall. We check the fixing points on the stair structure before confirming the design.
Are prices higher in Gloucestershire?
Our guide prices are the same nationally. The fixed price for your job depends on its size and specification, plus any site factors such as access or parking, which we note at survey.
