Staircase steel screens in Edinburgh and the Lothians
Every staircase steel screen we fit in Edinburgh and the Lothians starts with a free survey at the property, whether that is in Musselburgh, Edinburgh or a village nearby.
Fitting staircase steel screens in Edinburgh and the Lothians
Edinburgh's Georgian New Town and Victorian tenements have tall ceilings and deep plans that suit full-height internal steel screens; listed status is common.
Safety glass is standard in every internal pane, and we check whether fire-rated glazing is needed before anything is ordered. Because each frame is drawn from your measurements, the staircase steel screen fits the opening you have, not a stock size.
We cover Edinburgh, Leith, Musselburgh and Linlithgow, plus the villages and towns between them. Lead time is 5–7 weeks from signed-off drawings, and we confirm dates in writing when you sign off the drawings.
What we can include
- Full-height or half-height screens with handrail details
- Coordination with building control where approval is needed
- Survey of stringers, nosings and landings for fixings
- Fire-rated glass and frames where the stair is an escape route
A staircase steel screen is a glazed steel partition that replaces a solid wall or balustrade beside a staircase. Read the full guide to staircase steel screens.
